Festive baking in the air!

Well! Well! Well! Its another yuletide season and am particularly thankful for the year ending. So much has happened for me and my family this year.

We've lost great people and we've made rewarding friendships.

What can we say but Thank you lord! The all seeing, the all knowing. I am grateful. To usher in the twelve days of Christmas, here's my festive fruitcake sample. The first of many to come.

So raise your glasses and make a toast to a new day, a new dawn, a new beginning and remember to say a prayer of thanksgiving.

The Dreaded ''Pacu'' fish

My sis went a fish shopping and what did she find 'drum roll please' the dreaded pacu fish in store in Lagos. lol...It turns out the Pacu fish is one of the best tasting fishes of the amazon. It was a pleasure to watch her being prepped.

Fabulous Fam-style Barbecue!!!

Well, Well, Well, its friday the 9th, a public holiday. I got to have a fabulous family barbecue with sweet and spicy chicken wings, halo juicy hotshot steak, oven grilled trout. Here's evidence of a soul food day.
What's left is the people to gobble up. You can't go wrong with a barbecue to hook up with loved ones. Bon appetit!

Oaty oats!

Its one of those mornings, when i just want to settle in with a good hot bowl of oats and with an abundance of darling red apples who is to say i can't. Besides these bowl of oats is guaranteed to reduce cholesterol levels. So am digging in and munching on.

Its nice to always have a steady source of seafood. From shrimps, crabs, cuttlefish, sole, barraccuda to croaker. The Fish Shop and seafood outlet of Atlantic shrimpers is my steady supplier located on Eletu Ogabi Street in Victoria Island. It definitely is my go to fish zone.

Mile 12 and Ketu Markets in the news.

Once again the year 2013 has proven to be another year of friction between traders at the Mile 12 and Ketu markets and the Lagos State Government. The markets were shut Tuesday for failing to comply with sanitation laws and for impeding traffic in the ketu area of Lagos. Its about time the market association gets their act right. Don't you think? Till then, we hope our fruits and veggies supply remains uninterrupted. Image courtesy of Leadership online

A lil bit of France in a gourmet foods store.

A new gem i just discovered in the grocery store/gourmet food store business world is L'epicerie in the heart of Victoria Island. They have some of the best french wines in store. Even Nigerian vegetables are not left out. Its a pricey store given the location but definitely one to shop at with the array of produce and meats in stock.

A fruity fruity year!
